Ivar W. Sorensen, Ph.D. | Jon G. Freeland Overview: Ivar W. Sorensen, Ph.D. Ivar is co-founder and managing partner of The M&A Group. His experience is a unique mix of hands-on transaction work, practical shop floor management, executive level finance, and international business development. With over two decades of operational management experience in industrial goods manufacturing, Ivar finds it easy to relate to The M&A Group's clients. Like many of the business owners he represents, Ivar spent years coming home with "dirt under his fingernails and metal shavings on his shoes." As a mergers and acquisitions executive, Ivar has functioned as both a principal and intermediary, representing buyers and sellers in domestic and international transactions. In 1996, Ivar co-founded Mezzanine Capital Partners, Inc., a $40 million investment fund, which he co-managed until 1999. Ivar has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Oslo, Norway and earned his MBA and PhD in Corporate Finance from the University of Utah (1976).
