Ivar W. Sorensen, Ph.D. | Jon G. Freeland Overview: Blair P. Mowery To say that the M&A Group's Vice President, Blair Mowery, is experienced in managing healthcare technologies is an understatement. In his 25 years in the biotechnology and medical device industries, Mowery has been an entrepreneur, an executive, and an advisor. Throughout his career, he has provided leadership to numerous early and mid-stage companies and has direct experience with technologies and innovations ranging from biopharmaceuticals and functional foods to mechanical heart valves and annuloplasty repair systems. As a result of his experience, Mowery is intimately familiar with the unique challenges of the healthcare-related industries, both in the U.S. and abroad, such as certification (FDA, CE Mark, and Sarbanes-Oxley), reimbursement, licensing, and clinical testing. As an executive, he is also experienced in technology acquisition, product development, product testing and release, private and public IPO and debt financing, strategic partnerships and alliances and has broad international experience in sales and marketing including European, Middle Eastern, and Pacific Rim markets. In recent years, he served as Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions for an investment banking organization during which he assisted companies in raising funds through private placements. Upon completion of military service in the U.S. Army, Mowery worked in marketing and management for several multinational food product companies for 14 years. He earned a BS in Business Administration and MBA from the University of North Dakota and completed post-graduate work at Stanford University
